della and patrick

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:14 pm

Della and Patrick were married on a lovely October morning. It was such a nice way to start off my day! We started the morning at one of their friends gorgeous historic homes. It proved to be a great backdrop for the ladies as they got dressed and ready to go to the ceremony at the outdoor chapel. The chapel is located at Camp Sumatanga, the same location where we took their engagement photos several months before. This place is very special to them and I must say, it was AMAZING. I loved the simplicity and natural beauty of this entire wedding…from the outdoor chapel, to the burlap wrapped flowers, to the use of yellow and gray…all had an earthy yet vintage feel and was perfect. I hope you enjoy a peak into Della and Patrick’s special day!

much needed sunshine

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:23 pm

I am in much need of seeing beautiful, warm sunshine! Thankfully, I am also in need of blogging a beautiful beach wedding. I shot this wedding this past fall and I am super excited to get to post it! Brittany and Zac are not only clients, but my husband and I see them as friends as well. Brandon actually made the trip to the beach with us and we had a blast spending the weekend with this sweet couple. I hope you enjoy a preview into their special day…as well as a bit of much needed sunshine!

merry merry merry CHRISTMAS!

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:33 am

We love Christmas! I can’t wait until the day after Thanksgiving because that means IT’S OFFICIAL…IT’S CHRISTMAS TIME! We tend to go all out…with fun decorations, cookie parties, neighborhood progressive dinner, trip to Blue Ridge Mountains, trip to Stone Mountain, and my personal new favorite ELF SPAGHETTI!…wow…we’ve been busy. And I love it…but what I love most of all are things not photographed below, but rather the sweet questions and kind heart that my 3 year old is now possessing. Brandon was tucking him in bed last night and while saying his prayers, he remembered to thank Jesus for his birthday and told him “he (Cy) would be sure to tell others that He (Jesus) loved them for His birthday” …because earlier in the day Cy was very concerned that Jesus did not get a birthday present. I tried to explain showing God’s love and telling everyone Jesus loves them is the best present he could give! Good explanation, right? Just then, He put a dollar in the Salvation Army collection and looked to me and said “But that is my dollar, I don’t want those people to spend my dollar”…I tried to explain that money would help God’s people and that is a sweet thing he did…he grunted Merry Christmas to the sweet SA collector and I just laughed. Isn’t it true, we try to be so sweet and yet on the inside, we just want to keep OUR dollar. It is a work in progress to be selfless and constantly show God’s love, but I hope each of us take a moment to remember what this season is about…a Savior that loves us!  Merry Christmas! Below is a glimpse into our December, some images are “snapshots”, some are funny, some I actually didn’t even take…(so no looking too closely at camera setting or composition! lol!) I think you will quickly recognized my favorites…they are simply the one’s that show emotion and wonder of Christmas. I pray each of you have a blessed Christmas with your friends and family!

AND NOW FOR ELF SPAGHETTI…

ingredients: noodles, candy, candy cane, candy corn, syrup…and chocolate syrup, and marshmallows, and sprinkles…grossssss!!!! They had a blast, of coarse my baby thought it was literally the best thing ever! It truthfully made me a little nauseous to think about, but they thought it was awesome!

agghhhh!

yuck

the finished product!

Have yourself a Merry little Christmas!

I know a picture is worth 1000 words…as I write this blog entry, I am trying to figure out what I can say about this sweet beautiful couple. I know all couples are happy on their wedding day, but Farrah, she was shining. She was so excited and happy it truly made my job easy! I just had to point the camera in her direction and the image made itself. Her expressions were fantastic, her dress was timeless, the energy was high and excitable. I hope you like taking a peak into their story!

and here are a few from her bridal session.

balancing act

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 9:56 am

Hey!
This post is for all of you parents that work from home! I absolutely love what I do, I love photography, I love my profession. AND I love my family. As I sit here writing this blog entry, my sweet boy is holding my arm talking to me about Sesame Street. What a life! My “big” boy is now 3 and we have another one the way! So, how do you balance a home, little ones, and a successful photography business. The only answer I can come up with is

1. remember what is most important in life

2. take time to get outside and do the things you love with the one’s you love

3. work late into the night…after everyone is asleep! lol

So, when I am behind on my blog, or cleaning my house…I try to remember what is most important…My blessings. I love my family, and I love this business. I love working from home, I love my clients. Thank you all for allowing me to do the things I love most!

Now for great fall images, and more exciting news!

When we were expecting Cy, I decided I did not want to know his gender until he was born. I thought it was amazing. However, BB was not as into the surprise. He decided this time, He was going to find out, “whether I did or not”. lol! So, to be fair, I complied.

This card contained the sonogram that revealed the baby's gender. I took it to a friend to bake a bake. I will post about that soon, but for now, enjoy celebrating our special GREAT news!

This is what she saw! She then baked a blue cake with white icing for BB and I to cut into. We all found out together the baby is a BOY! I will post those photos soon! My friend took pics of the whole event!

Now for a glimpse into our fall! Our “big” boy loves being outdoors and has recently started loving “nature walks”. So below are some images from our “walks”

"Mom, let's pretend I am a tree"

...amazed the same tree can have a brown leaf and a green one at the same time!

we don't skip stones...we throw rocks! lol

yep...that is him

Now for the pumpkin patch…a GREAT afternoon.

I am rarely seen on the blog...so here you go.

And now for a Happy Halloween wish!

Thank you Grammy for my awesome Optimus Prime costume.

"Autobots...roll out"!

I PROMISE I will get the other 4-5 weddings posted on this blog as soon as possible!

Myhead is spinning as to when and how…but I know me, and I WILL get it done. lol! Please check back at the end of the week to see a beautiful wedding! I will continue this great balancing act…and loving every minute of it. (well except working at 2 a.m.) lol!

terri jo and jason married

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:28 pm

Hi all!

It has been way too long since I have updated this blog! I have many great portrait sessions as well as some summer and early fall weddings still to post. I am trying so hard to figure out the appropriate amount to blog. I feel like I am continuously behind on this! So please, keep checking back and check back often…I will do my best to keep it up to date.

Now, for Terri Jo and Jason. This was such a great intimate wedding to photograph, complete with very close friends and family.  They decided to keep it simple and very family oriented. They chose the groom’s parents home to start off the wedding day photos. What a great choice. It was on the river, complete with a private little cottage with a tree swing that proved to be a great photo opportunity. (I think the adults enjoyed the swing as much as the little guys!)  I hope you enjoy a look into Terri Jo and Jason’s wedding day. It was a blessing to photograph this sweet couple.

luke and liza married

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:52 pm

What a cool wedding! Luke and Liza were simply adorable! This was one of those weddings I have always wanted to photograph…a MILITARY one. When I say military, I mean military. The groom, as well as 9 of his groomsmen were all West Point graduates…and ALL have served our country overseas. What an honor to photograph these men as well as their wonderful supportive wives! I am a patriotic girl at heart. I try to always tell soldiers that I am so thankful for their service. And this was no exception. So again, thank you to all of our servicemen! Luke and Liza were a joy to photograph! They are the sweetest couple and know how to have a great time! I hope you enjoy a little look into this very red.white.blue wedding.

I really like how these next 2 images came out. I am shooting through the glass
in the door (the church does not allow photography during the ceremony)

…the moment I have been wanting to photograph since I picked up a camera! I
was so excited to see the sword “spanking”

What a night! I hope you had as much fun viewing them as I did taking them! Thank you again Luke and Liza! God bless you!

julie and jeremy MARRIED

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:27 am

hey guys!

Time to post a wedding! Julie and Jeremy were married at the beginning of summer in an intimate ceremony in Rainbow City.  It was a perfect afternoon with friends and family gathered together to celebrate with them as they said their vows.  As you will see below, Julie’s little man was very excited to be a part of the wedding! He brought a whole new vibe to the usual “quiet” ceremony. It was great!  Many photos were arranged around him and what he “wanted” to do for pictures. I believe at one time, he was playing peek-a-boo from beneath her dress! Again, it was great! Julie has been my best friend since I was old enough to know what a best friend was. Another great thing about this couple is Jeremy. I have also known Jeremy since 1st grade! It is so cool how God puts people back into your lives! I know they will have a happy life together! Congratulations Julie and Jeremy. It was an honor to be your photographer!

Well that was all of those! Back outside we go!

Ok. Now time for the ceremony. Notice how Jace participates. It was the sweetest thing.
